Fourteen
OK, so last week, we went out for dinner. But that doesn’t really tell the story. How about I sum it up in two words. Ready? That’s a “meat sandwich” in a manilla envelope. Fourteen. Courses. I know, right? Man alive! There’s this new degustation restaurant that’s opened down by the water called, Esquire. Guys. The food. I just. I cannot begin to explain the absolute unfathomable awesomeness! (Though I did post my tasting notes over at our new blog…what’s that? You say you’ve never been there before? For shame!) It
See? See How It Could Have Been?
I braved my Docs again yesterday. I love them! I do! They just happen to give me monster blisters. But I’ve conferred with fellow Doc owners and the general consensus is to “suck it up” for a month of blisters and bleeding (this never happened with my other pair) and you’ll be rewarded with happy days forever. I can do this! Besides, I want to wear them to an engagement party on Saturday (you best believe I’m rocking the floral dress and Doc Marten combo) and I figured I should
Welcome Home
Over at Apartment Therapy (which I love by the way. I also love their sister site The Kitchn.) They’ve been talking about appreciating your home. Or, rediscovering it, I guess. I’m itching to do a little re-decorating come Spring. But in the meantime it was nice to take a look around and see our little home with new eyes. If you look real hard…you’ll see a glow in the dark skeleton hanging from the light switch
Holding Out
All through autumn and winter, all I wanted was to wear a sweater over a dress. I bought plenty of dresses, sleeveless too, just begging to be covered. But nothing worked. The silhouette was all wrong. All of my sweaters were too long or too bulky or too…just not right. Until… Mum was going through her wardrobe and decided to pass this little guy on to me. And he’s perfect! He is! He’s just what I’ve been looking for! Plus he’s light enough to carry over into spring. Oh! This
In Which My Adult Life Is Pretty Dang Awesome
We’re working on a particularly involved project at work at the moment. So yesterday I packed up the trusty laptop (read: heaviest substance on earth) and worked offsite. Getting dressed in the morning my only requirement was no blue (State of Origin you know, game 2. I’d rather not talk about it). I ended up with what I called a “Market Day” look. Those of you from round here might remember it as a festival from the late 90’s run bylocal radio station 4ZZZ. It may still be going actually…
The Best Intentions
I’ve been really happy with a lot of my outfits lately. The problem is…documenting said outfits. I forgot how dark it gets in winter. Or rather, how early it gets dark. By the time The Man gets home there’s little light left. And I’m yet to figure out how to take legitimate pictures of myself with my iPhone that don’t involve the ever classy “My Space” pose. Ah such are the tribulations of having a blog… Top: Cotton On Skirt: Cotton OnShoes: Rubi
Number 24
This week I’ve been working my way through JJJ’s Hottest 100 from 1993 on YouTube. I’ve come to number 24 and it’s occurred to me that 4 Non Blondes may just be responsible for my lifelong love affair of boots with dresses. BRB – going to buy a leather top hat and goggles.
Feed The Birds, Tuppence A Bag
I took my laptop and worked in the City yesterday. I really must do it more often. The highlight of the day was that I got to have lunch in the park with The Man, like the good ol’ days. (I swear we hung out! I wasn’t on my phone the whole time…) It’s a really cool little place to escape in the middle of a whole lotta hustle and bustle. Unless of course you are looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of pigeons…Sunglasses: Cotton OnDress: Retro StarTop: Valley
10:52pm
It was my birthday last week. Actually, exactly a week ago today. Man, it feels like 3 months ago already. What was that thing about time going faster as you get older? Anyway, I had a super fantastic time with the Fam. Sparklers and cake and foil (you had to be there) oh my! And my Brother! Not only did he swing by for a surprise hug that left me singing “Eye Of The Tiger” all day, but he sent me off around the house on a treasure hunt. He
Deep In The Throes Of Musty, Mustard And Army Green Bliss
While swapping out my wardrobe yesterday (yay!) I was struck by a revolutionary thought. Now that I can wear whatever I want every day…why don’t I wear whatever I want every day? Confused? I’m not surprised. Let me break it on down. OK, I work from my home office. I occasionally (read: twice in 5 months) attend work events but aside from that I am left to my own devices, accountable only to Gmail and Skype. Which means my dress code is dictated entirely by my own varying desire to
