There’s a colour I’m really into right now. A shade. A hue.
It’s ochre. Rust. Red dirt.
I noticed it creep into my wardrobe as I hung singlet, shirt, high-neck zip up on the clothes line.
And it’s little wonder I’m inspired by it. It’s all around me in this, my country.
It’s the sand, the late afternoon sky, the trunk of the scrappy, scrubby gums sketched against the wide open horizon.
