My Week At A Five Star Resort

May 16th, 2012 by Selise

OK, are you ready? Ready to get the inside scoop on my week long stay at Australia’s most awarded five-star resort? I’m going to warn you now. These photos may evoke feelings of extreme longing. In fact, I’m experiencing a little myself. I’ll skip the ones of us living it up on the luxury launch that sped us to the private island. Oh, and the ones of me in an extravagant bubble bath enjoying our complimentary bottle of wine (note: tasteful, not at all revealing pictures) (second note: The Man enjoyed the wine too, I didn’t down the whole thing myself). Let’s start with an outfit:

This is what I wore to dinner the first night. We went to Fontaine. Super fancy restaurant where they serve a $150 burger. Which I did not get. Picture a little blurry? Yeah, that’d probably be the steam from the tub I just got out of (see it behind me?).

Here I am taking in a little reading by the famous (and massive) Hayman Pool. Like seven hundred million litres in that thing!

One part of the pool. Seriously, the thing is huge. This will give you a better idea but it still doesn’t do it justice. It keeps going on either side of the picture. (If you’re curious about where we were sitting, we were at the tables under the umbrellas on the far left side.)

The Man and I looking super fresh faced and relaxed.Β  Probably taken after I had my Outdoor Cabana Massage. What’s that, you say? Here, I’ll show you.

This cabana? I got a 90 minute massage in it. Just me, the masseuse and the ocean.

Here’s the view I saw. Well, when I wasn’t face down, blissed out that is.

Enjoying a delicious “Hayman Colada” by the pool. Yep, that’s a hollowed out coconut filled with tasty, tasty liquid. And they give you a spoon so you can scoop the young coconut flesh out when you’re done drinking. So good!!

See that reflection in my sunglasses? The palm trees? It’s amazing how long you can stare at those things. Watching them sway gently in the balmy afternoon breeze while you sup on a perfect margarita.

How’s that longing going? Kicked in yet? Yeah, me too.
