The Geometry Of Flowers

July 14th, 2010 by Selise

Usually I don’t question my outfits. I put things together because I like the look or feel of them together. This morning though, while I was ironing my clothes, I was really puzzled as to what made me think to pair this checkered shirt together with this floral print. Don’t get me wrong. I liked it. I crazy liked it actually but I just couldn’t see what it was that led me to mix them. Throughout the day it dawned on me. The blue grey of the leaves is the same blue grey as the lighter checks. I must have seen it on some sort of subconscious level because if you asked me to pick 2 things out of my wardrobe with a similar blue grey in them I don’t think I could do it. So, yay for subconscious dressing.

The new boots made their debut at work today. I was worried that they may not be work appropriate. Silly really, considering some of the other stuff I wear. One of the managers commented on how great they were so I know I’m safe. I don’t want to jinx myself but I’ve never been reprimanded for anything I’ve worn to work. Which is awesome. Although I make sure I’m always decent so there’s probably not all that much that they could say really.

Thank you to West for the hairdresser recommendation. Now to decide on a style. I quite liked Helena Bonham Carters hair in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but it’s probably a bit short. Let me know if you guys see anything.

Now onto some monumentally exciting news….

The clip launch! Finally I can share it with you all! Well, all of you that are in Brisbane. The rest of you will have to wait for me to post it here afterwards. It’s gonna be great. There will be a Q&A session with Damien and I. So if you’re in town on Saturday 24 July, please feel free to come on by.

The No Shopping Report:
I camped out in the lunch room again today with a good book. It’s funny, the only thing I’ve thought of buying in the last few days is some more old school detective novels being that I’m on the last of the collection I got for my birthday. Well, that and a sweater. I’m cold at night and my sweaters are all still packed away in an inaccessible space because when I went though my winter stuff it wasn’t quite cold enough for them. Silly time to go through my winter stuff huh? It’s OK though, I’m not going to break the ban. I’m going to raid The Man’s wardrobe instead.
